Blue Zone

Blue Zone is a cartography of memory and territory. It maps the island of Sardegna through the lens of its “paesi longevi” — the long‑living villages known as blue zones. On a warm cream field, a dark, irregular diagonal band recalls the island’s mountainous interior; scattered blue dots mark the villages renowned for longevity, among them Seulo, where the artists were born, raised and where they still weave today. To the left, a quiet rhythm of short lines suggests terraces, paths or the quiet architecture of daily life.

All fibres are sourced in Sardegna, so the material itself belongs to the same landscape the rug describes. Woven entirely by hand on a horizontal loom, this is a demanding piece: controlling the long diagonal, placing every blue dot, and keeping the structure flat and strong require many concentrated hours at the loom. Small variations in line thickness, dot size and edge are part of its truth as a hand‑made cartography.

This is a statement rug with a strong narrative and a high level of labour per square metre, reflected in its price. It is designed for generous living spaces, hospitality projects or collectors who seek pieces with a clear connection to place and story — not only as design, but as a woven document of a specific territory and its people.
