Threshold Rug explores how a single color can become architecture. On a warm cream ground, the artist builds a sequence of stepped rectangles, each line echoing the previous one and slowly tightening toward the centre. The result is a quiet, optical field: a rug that feels both minimal and structured, able to frame a seating area or act as a soft “room within a room”.

Compared to other pieces of the same size, this rug uses a more restrained grammar: a single tone, a flat, regular weave and fewer raised details. This makes it lighter in weight and more accessible in cost, while fully retaining the integrity of the handmade process.

Woven entirely by hand on a horizontal loom, the rug is built through repeated, measured gestures. Small irregularities in line spacing and edge are part of its character: traces of the time and handwork invested at the loom.

This piece is particularly suited to minimal interiors, bedrooms and quiet living spaces where its subtle geometry can breathe. Its lighter weight makes it easy to move, clean and rotate, while the dense weave still offers warmth and acoustic comfort.
