Made in Italy
Hand‑woven textile panel with Sardinian cork insets, mounted and framed. A dynamic composition of angular geometric facets—warm ochres, deep browns and teal blues intersect with russet and gold—punctuated by circular and fragmentary cork inserts. The work is set against a wide matte black passe‑partout and a simple black wood frame. Handmade production: each piece is developed from sketch to vertical loom and requires many hours of careful weaving, cutting and hand finishing.

A tactile study in contrast and material juxtaposition. The surface is a collage of handwoven triangles and trapezia where dense warp and weft meet textured inserts and shaped cork elements. The cork accents—both circular and irregular fragments—introduce an earthy, matte relief that counterpoints the velvety and patterned textile patches. Light travels differently across velvets, brocades and cork, creating subtle shadows and a layered sense of depth.
Mounted visibly on a broad matte black passe‑partout and housed in a minimal black-stained wood frame, the piece reads as a sculptural panel or a stitched relief map. The pared-back framing foregrounds materiality: irregular stitched joins, slight colour variations, and the hand‑cut cork edges all signal manual making. Produced with Sardinian and locally sourced natural fibres and traditional techniques adapted for a contemporary vocabulary, every work is one-of-a-kind. Ideal as a focal architectural accent in a living room, hallway or gallery wall where texture and craft are central.
