Hand‑woven textile square mounted and framed. A study in contrasting densities—an open, neutral beige weave forms a structural backdrop punctuated by a dense, vertical band of stepped geometric motifs in black, grey, white, and deep crimson. To the right, rich red stepped formations anchor the composition, intersected by crisp horizontal accent threads in vibrant yellow, red, and black. Set within a light cream passe‑partout and a natural light wood frame. Handmade production time: each piece is developed in stages — from sketch to vertical loom — and requires many hours of careful weaving and handwork.

Description

A compact study in texture, transparency, and geometric rhythm, this framed textile belongs to the Trame Incrociate series and is masterfully crafted on a vertical loom. The piece visually contrasts the negative space of its exposed, structured horizontal threads against densely woven, tapestry-like focal points. A striking vertical column commands the left-center, featuring a traditional stepped diamond motif in deep crimson, greys, blacks, and whites. This dense verticality is balanced on the right by bold, fragmented red triangles that appear to float within the woven grid.

Vivid horizontal lifelines of yellow-gold, red, and black cut across the composition, binding the disparate elements together. Mounted visibly on a coordinating light passepartout and housed in a contemporary, natural light wood frame, the piece reads as a miniature tapestry or a contained abstract painting. Its restrained presentation emphasizes the tactile nature of the weave and the irregularities intrinsic to handwork—slight shifts in tension and woven edges that confirm its manual origin.
